SIT30816 – Certificate III in Commercial Cookery

This qualification reflects the role of commercial cooks who use a wide range of well-developed cookery skills and sound knowledge of kitchen operations to prepare food and menu items. Using discretion and judgement, they work with some independence and under limited supervision using plans, policies and procedures to guide work activities.

This qualification provides a pathway to work as a commercial cook in organisations such as restaurants, hotels, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops.

Entry Requirement

Domestic students:

• Students must be minimum 18 years of age.
• Have Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) working Level 3 – based on pre enrollment LLN assessment.

International students

• Students must be minimum 18 years of age and Students must have completed an equivalent of year 12.
• IELTS band 5.5 or equivalent or have Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) working Level 3 – based on pre enrollment LLN assessment.

Certification and outcome:

Upon successful completion of all 25 units of competencies and being assessed as competent in all 25 units , student may get a Nationally recognized qualification from the registered colleges.
